He was the pioneer in the Philippines in institutionalizing “legitimate theater.” He improved and expanded his knowledge by pursuing graduate degrees and courses abroad. He also taught his fellow citizens.

In 2012, he was admitted into the Hall of Fame for the Palanca Awards.

Ateneo Municipal and San Juan de Letran are where Patricio Mariano completed his secondary education. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the Liceo de Manila after studying bookkeeping at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios.
